General Meeting Agenda

January 6, 2010

Call to Order - The meeting was called to order at 7:05  PM.

 

Principal's Report -  . Mrs. McCracken reported that the Night with Young Knights part 2 will occur February 18th from 6:30 – 7:30.  They have advertised the event with local Preschools and the Norwin Star.  If you know of anyone entering Kindergarten, please share the information or have them call the office.  Kindergarten registration will begin Monday February 1st.  Parents of incoming Kindergarten will need to call the office to schedule their screening time.  This will occur in March. 

 

Reading and Approval of Minutes - A motion was made by Karen Soliday and seconded by Wendy Noe  to approve the minutes.  A vote was taken and all were in favor of the approval.

 

Treasurer’s Report - Approve budget. This was approved by Karen Soliday and Wendy Noe  gave the 2nd approval.  See attached for the budget.

 

Letters/Communications  - The bus drivers sent in a THANK YOU card for their bus driver breakfast.  They were given $5 Panera Gift Cards and Mittens. 

 

Unfinished Business - Nothing to report at this time

 

New Business-  All current PTA officer positions will be open for the 2010 – 2011 school year.  There are also some Committees that will have open Chair s / co Chairs for the upcoming school year.  If you would like to consider chairing any open committees, please contact one of the current officers. We would like to remind all Committee Chairs to check their budgets before spending any money. The following committees are open: Health and Safety, Fundraiser, Back to School Picnic, Decorating, Reflections,Trash to Cash and Turn off the TV Week. If you are Chairing a Committee and considering to step down, contact an officer as soon as possible.

 

Reports from Committee Chairs -Wendy Noe – Math Matters – mentioned that she has cell phone erasers left.  She was wondering if another committee could buy them from her.  A possible suggestion was to have Fun Fair buy them. She will contact Christine Colcombe and Kim Mouio.  LaVonne Bonn is stepping down from Round Table Reader.  Effective immediately, Karen Soliday will be the new Committee Chair.  Currently, all 4 PTA officer positions are open for next year.  Deb Rosko made nominations, and Stacy Youngbauer 2nd her nomination for the following: President – Sue Knopp, Vice President – Kim Weber, Secretary – Cindy Litsko, Treasure – Becky Ewing.  Cindy Litsko mentioned that she will have boxes for the teachers.
