PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THE POLICIES PERTAINING TO CLASSROOM PARTIES.
Individual treat bags are not permitted to be sent in per school policy.
Food Donations for parties must be sent into the school in the original, unopened package. Party volunteers will open & prepare food in the classroom. Please be cognizant of Food Allergies. If you are taking your child(ren) home after the party, please sign them out on the appropriate grade-level sign-out sheet(s) in the Community Room. This will be recorded as an early dismissal. Return to Community Room after party to wait for your child.
-
If you signed out your other child(ren), return to Community Room after party to wait for them. DO NOT go to your other child(ren)’s classroom.
-
You will only be permitted to sign-out your own child(ren). You may not sign-out other relatives or friends’ children.

ALLERGY AWARENESS
Like most schools in the United States, we have a number of students at Sunset Valley that have potentially life-threatening food allergies. For information about practical food allergy management in the school setting, please visit www.snacksafely.com. We understand that allergy safe foods such as carrot sticks & apple slices may not be exciting to all kids. Since there is no "one" snack food that is safe for all allergies, please check with your teacher or homeroom mom to find out if there are any specific allergies in your child's class.
There is a brand called Enjoy Life that is free of all the top 8 allergens. They make various snacks and food and they can be found at Giant Eagle & Wal-Mart. Additionally, click here to be directed to the Snack Safely list of snacks. This list does not provide options for all 8 of the top allergens, but it does provide options for tree nut, peanut & egg allergies.
The top 8 food allergens include: Dairy, Eggs, Peanuts, Tree Nuts, Fish, Shellfish, Soy, Wheat
